Pressure Systems Inspections

The main legislation concerning pressure systems is PSSR, this requires Pressure System testing to be carried out in accordance with a Written Scheme of Examination (WSE).

PSSR Info

Regulation 8 of PSSR requires a Written Scheme of Examination. Regulation 9 of PSSR requires an examination in accordance with a WSE.

The aim of PSSR testing is to prevent serious injury from the hazard of stored energy (pressure) as a result of the failure of a pressure system or one of its component parts.

You need to ensure that a suitable written scheme of examination is in place before the system is operated. You also need to ensure that the pressure system is actually examined in accordance with the written scheme of examination.

Pressure system Inspection frequencies are determined by the WSE.
